On Lenape Land- Paintings and Forest Compositions Exhibit Opening

Join us as we celebrate the”On Lenape Land”  Exhibit Opening by Susan Hoenig, featuring artwork inspired by her time spent in the Abbott Marshlands. Immersed in its beauty and history on Friends for the Abbott Marshlands walks led by Charlie and Mary (Allessio) Leck, Susan created many sketches that led to these paintings that celebrate the land and acknowledge its Native People.

In Susan’s words: “I have a passion for the lives of trees and feel a great spiritual connection in acknowledging the land of the Lenape and its history
From our perspective, early cultures stewarded this land wisely. Life that surrounds us can teach valuable lessons in our interactions with the land, air, water, and wildlife. In my paintings, I hope to convey this special, vibrant living place related to a rich tapestry of cultural heritage”.
