The Geology and Hydrogeology of the Abbott Marshland is the result of nearly 100,000,000 years of deposition and erosion. A short introductory lecture by Pierre Lacombe, retired USGS hydrogeologist, will cover central New Jersey Geology during the age of dinosaurs; followed by a geologic walk to explore exposures of the marshland’s sediment of clay, silt, sand, and pebbles, and various stream bed features in nearby Watson Woods. This is the first of a two part series. The second session meets on March 19th for a visit to the Bordentown Bluffs.
