All 1st Saturday Abbott Marshlands Walks will begin promptly at 10 am and last until noon. In addition to RWJ – Hamilton, Friends for the Abbott Marshlands, and Tulpehaking Nature Center, these walks are cosponsored by Mercer County Park Commission, Bordentown Twp. Environmental Commission, and D&R Canal State Park.

Insects – Sit, Learn, Discover Outside Event — Subject to Weather

August 10 (Fri)  (11th rain date). Evening Insects – Sit, Learn, Discover,
8-9:30 p.m.
(Eugene will stay longer if people are interested). For kids of
all ages. Guide: Eugene M. Fuzy, Entomologist and Deputy Mayor of
Bordentown Township.   Bring a chair and flashlight (for safe walking) and sit near a light trap to discover Insects that are active after dark.

Insect species represent more than half of all living animals, and they
are the most diverse animal group on Earth, yet we know very few of those
that live nearby. See what Northern Community Park has to offer. Free.

 

Meet at Bordentown Township’s Northern Community Park on Groveville Road, between Rts. 130. For information: 732-821-8310.

8:00 am Fall Migration: Roebling Park Bird Surveys

Come join a naturalist led bird walk and survey to see Roebling Park is used by migrating fall birds. This project is part of the #BagThePhrag marsh restoration initiative at Abbott Marshlands. We will collect data to see how birds use this area to migrate as the marsh restoration progresses throughout different seasons.
