WHO IS CHARLES CONRAD ABBOTT AND WHY IS THE MARSH NAMED IN HIS HONOR?

Join us for a day of educational and fun activities for the whole family celebrating the birthday of Charles Conrad Abbott and his connection to the Abbott Marshlands.

Follow Abbott’s footsteps to the site of his homestead.

Discover how the belongings of the Lenape people found here help to tell the story of Lenapehoking.

Enjoy interpretive readings by Righteous Jolly (Best of Bucks 2024 – Entertainer) directly from Abbott’s ramblings in the marshlands and his encounters with wildlife.

Tour the Watson House, the oldest home in Mercer County, and experience a colonial cooking demonstration.

View photos of the area from over 100 years ago. Indulge in ice cream and cake. It is a birthday celebration after all!
