Saturday Jan. 10, 2015, 10 AM – noon. Washington Crossing Audubon walk Spring Lake/ Roebling Park. Leaders: Brad Merritt, Andrew Bobe, and Charlie Leck.
Several bird species that were of particular interest, including – a winter wren observed along the lake near the parking lot; a snipe flying along the edge of the lake; fox sparrows at the far end of the bridge among some other sparrows; various ducks, two swans, and a pied-billed grebe – in the back marsh, past the beaver lodges where there was still a patch of open water; and the highlight for many – a pair of eagles in a tree in one telescope view.
