Mountain Laurel on the Bordentown Bluffs.  Photo by Mary Leck.
The Bordentown Bluffs area was preserved in 1996 and is part of the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park. The trail runs through the Abbott Marshlands' least disturbed woods boasting chestnut oaks, thickets of mountain laurel and rhododendron.  Several portions of the trail open up to views of Crosswicks Creek and the Marsh.   The trails on the Bordentown Bluffs are accessible from Route 206 South in Bordentown Township, south of the I-195 interchange. From Route 206 South, make the first right onto a dead end street after the Pointe Breeze Apartments.  The Stanton Avenue street sign may be missing. NOTE: We have not displayed a GPS map for this location because the Stanton Avenue address will often direct you to the wrong side of Stanton Ave off of Route 206 North. Click Get Directions in the header above for a map with the Correct GPS Coordinates. Please do not park in front of either gate.
