An early morning in April, spring was in the air, I stopped by Spring Lake at the Abbott Marsh with my camera. No real plan – just looking for something beautiful.

The light was diffused. I had my zoom lens on my camera. A swan, the symbol of beauty and grace, was gliding slowly leaving a long wake on the surface of the water.I took the shot. I love the soft colorful foliage and reflections surrounding the swan. The stillness of the water transported me.
Off in another corner of the lake a swan was pounding the surface of the water while trying to take off in flight.

I loved watching this. Of course the image does not capture the beautiful primal sound of the wings hitting the water, you had to be there for that.

After circling around the lake a couple of times the swan came in for a landing.
I walked over to another area of the marsh and noticed I was being watched.

This was the start of a good day.
