The Abbott Marshlands Nature Book Club will continue its monthly meetings for another year.  Once again, Jackie Stone has put together a wonderful list of readings for us thoughout 2025.  Here’s the planned schedule:

January 30th: Backyard Bird Chronicles by Amy Tan

February 27th: Infinite Life: The Revolutionary Story of Eggs, Evolution, and Life on Earth by Jules Howard

March 27th: Borne by the River by Rick Van Noy (Discussion with the author)

April 24th: The Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change by Yoram Bauman and Grady Klein

 May 29th: The Nature of Oaks: The Rich Ecology of Our Most Essential Native Trees by Doug Tallamy (5 year anniversary meeting!)

 June 26th: Otherlands: A Journey Through Earth’s Extinct Worlds by Thomas Halliday

 July 31st: The Inner Life of Animals: Love, Grief, and Compassion―Surprising Observations of a Hidden World by Peter Wohlleben

 August 28th: The Weight of Nature: How a Changing Climate Changes Our Brains by Clayton Page Aldern

 September 25th: The Light Eaters. How the Unseen World of Plant Intelligence Offers a New Understanding of Life on Earth by Zoë Schlanger

 October 30th: Wild Woman: Empowering Stories by Women who Work in Nature by Philippa Forrester

 December 4th: Lily Pond: Four Years With a Family of Beavers by Hope Ryden

Please note that we will have Rick Van Noy as a guest to join our discussion about his book centered on our own Delaware River on March 27th.  And this year on May 29th we will celebrate our 5th Anniversary of the book club.  Stay tuned for celebration details.
