You don’t need to be an entomologist to know by now that bugs are an essential part of maintaining healthy and harmonious cycles our natural world, from marshes to forests to meadows to gardens. The precise and fascinating work of one dragonfly, bee, ant, or beetle can keep it, as well as you, occupied for a long, long time if you watch closely. While there are some insect species with damaging habits, most bugs around you are beneficial, much-needed, and under-appreciated in their roles.
