Have a few spare hours on a Sunday morning to make a difference?
Northern Community Park includes a rich woodland ecosystem. Unfortunately, there is an area where invasive Japanese knotweed is moving into the understory and crowding out the native plants. Join the Stewardship team of the Friends for the Abbott Marshlands to cut back the knotweed and stop its spread.
Please wear gloves and bring water and clippers. Long handled loppers are best. Meet in the main parking area off Groveville Road. It’s okay if you can’t stay for the whole time!
Volunteers 18 and older only please. Release forms are needed for all volunteers. The forms can be found here to be filled out in advance, or provided onsite: ReleaseOfLiability_FriendsInc
