Nature Book Club

May 27, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

“Robin Wall Kimmerer has written an extraordinary book, showing how the factual, objective approach of science can be enriched by the ancient knowledge of the indigenous people. It is the way she captures beauty that I love the most―the images of giant cedars and wild strawberries, a forest in the rain and a meadow of fragrant sweetgrass will stay with you long after you read the last page.”―Jane Goodall

This month we will be discussing  Braiding Sweetgrass:  Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer.   Robin is a mother, a scientist, a decorated professor, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.  Her collection of essays braids the wisdom of many ways of knowing into a beautiful portrait of healing relationships with the earth.

If you are not already on our bookclub email list and you would like to participate, please send an email to [email protected] and we’ll be sure to send you meeting information and links.
