A freshwater tidal marsh - an urban oasis.
Our first Saturday Wellness Walk has a definite buzz this month!
Insect facts: there are more than a million known insect species and they are the most diverse animal group on Earth. Come discover the many kinds of insects, including butterflies and beetles found locally. Find spiders and learn about their 8-legged cousins, the ticks. Walk will be led by Eugene M. Fuzy, Entomologist and Deputy Mayor of Bordentown Twp.
Free. Registration not required.
Meet at Bordentown Township’s Northern Community Park on Groveville Road, between Rts. 130 and 206.
Each First Saturday of the Month, the Friends host a walk to explore a different part of the rich and diverse natural area known as the Abbott Marshlands. All walks are from 10 am to noon. In case of inclement weather, check the marsh website; any cancellations will be listed before 9 am on the day of the event. A light drizzle will not cancel. This months walk is co-sponsored by the RWJ Fitness and Wellness Center and the D&R Canal State Park.
