Join us on our First Saturday Wellness Walk on the Abbott Brook Trail in Roebling Park. The tide will be low for our walk, so expect to see plenty of mud in the brook on March 1st. Hopefully, your feet will stay dry on the trail, though, because a Friends’ Stewardship Crew has been working on some wonderful improvements here. We’ll talk about the past and continuing Lenape presence on this land. We’ll visit the shoreline of Watson’s Creek and some overwintering ducks may still be present, so you may want to bring binoculars.
We will meet in the parking lot of the Watson House /Tulpehaking Nature Center. Look for the Roebling Park entrance near 157 Westcott Avenue, Hamilton. The parking lot is on the right shortly after you enter the Park.
Each First Saturday of the Month, the Friends host a walk to explore a different part of the rich and diverse natural area known as the Abbott Marshlands. All walks are from 10 am to noon. In case of inclement weather, check the marsh website; any cancellations will be listed before 9 am on the day of the event. A light drizzle or snow shower will not cancel. This months walk is co-sponsored by the RWJ Fitness and Wellness Center and the Mercer County Park Commission.
