Ned Gilmore’s knowledge of Charles Conrad Abbott, stems from discovering one of Abbott’s 19th century nature books, written about the area we now call the Abbott Marshlands. Since then, he has tracked down numerous of Abbott’s writings including books, articles, letters, and notes, as well as locations of more than 350 fish specimens. Ned is collections manager for the Vertebrate Biology Department at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, has a special interest in Late Cretaceous and Early Tertiary fossils of the eastern coastal pain of North America.
