Come out for the artist’s reception for this solo exhibit by Evie Sutkowski, “Return to Nature Primeval,” at Tulpehaking Nature Center. The exhibit includes watercolor paintings, collage, mixed-media, ecoprints, botanical gel prints and cyanotypes. View Evie’s work, inspired by ancient rock, old woods and waterways, where one can connect instinctively with the enduring presence of nature. The show runs from Sept. 27-Nov 9, 2025 with the Artist’s Reception Oct. 19 2:30-4:00pm
Artist Evie Sutkowski, from Monroe Township, developed an interest in art as a young adult in high school. She majored in Psychology and minored in Art at Syracuse University. After graduating, in 1999, Evie exhibited a collage sculpture at Penn State’s Paul Robeson Gallery. It was entitled “A Gathering of Women, A Healing Place” and was featured in news covering the event. While traveling as a consultant, Evie continued nurturing her passion for art, attending watercolor, pastel and collage workshops in Iowa, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.
Evie is a member of Garden State Watercolor Society, the Suburban Artists Guild, the Plainsboro Artists Group, and Princeton Sketchers. She works primarily in watercolor, collage and various print media. She has participated in regional juried exhibits at venues with Garden State Watercolor Society, New Jersey Audubon Society (Plainsboro Preserve), Monroe Township Cultural Commission, Princeton Arts Council, Middlesex County and New Jersey State Senior Art Exhibits, Suburban Artists Guild, Shad Festival in Lambertville, and several at Gourgaud Gallery, Cranbury. She is the recipient of these watercolor awards: Audubon Award, Plainsboro Preserve – Second Place; Middlesex County Senior Art – First Place, and an Honorable Mention; NJ State Senior Art – Third Place. Evie’s artwork is in private collections in Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
The Tukpehaking Nature Center is open Wed- Sat from 10 am to 4 pm and Sun 1 – 4 pm.
